Race the Cart Winners Take on Ultimate Shopping Challenge

October 19, 2026

The Race the Cart promotion delivered plenty of excitement this summer, as three lucky winners from across Western Canada earned the chance to race through their local grocery stores in a fast-paced shopping spree.

Following the contest, winners were selected from participating independent retailers in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The winners were Diane from Crossfield, Alberta, Cathy from Indian Head, Saskatchewan, and Suzanne from Niverville, Manitoba.

Each winner took part in a thrilling two-minute Race the Cart shopping spree, putting their strategy, speed and shopping skills to the test as they raced through the aisles, filling their carts with groceries.

The events were hosted in partnership with local independent retailers, creating memorable experiences for winners, store teams and community members alike. From the starting countdown to the final buzzer, participants embraced the challenge and made the most of every second.

Race the Cart was designed to celebrate local grocery shopping while rewarding customers who support independent retailers in their communities. The promotion generated excitement across participating locations and showcased the strong connections between local stores and the customers they serve.

The Grocery People extends a sincere thank you to the participating retailers, store staff and winners who helped make Race the Cart a success. We also thank everyone who entered the contest and followed along throughout the promotion.

Stay tuned to social media for more community-focused promotions, customer celebrations and retailer success stories.
